Thoughts/Ideas: - Secret base of a long forgotten or dead sun - Part of an Energy grid the blue sun uses - Whatever is at the core of the world uses the ambient lightning qi to power itself using the rods.. (maybe a portal to the higher plane) - corpse of some lightning type beast or person at a realm higher than the suns - Secret Realm opening at its core
