I mean idk but it's just weird, especially since this person was an assassin before, he made an unnecessarily risky move like you can love and trust a person without saying literally every secret of yours as it's unneeded especially when you're still weak. it would've made sense if he had gotten stronger first but him being weak will only make him all the more vulnerable now that all his cards have the spread for display to someone he just met btw. In the end tho, it don't matter cause author can just swoosh a wind of devotion and loyalty into axel so we can already predict that yeah mc is safe and it's all cool cause author is in control👌

Author I really love your writing, each character, each line and paragraph evokes emotions, thoughts and just wow. I don't think I can read novels of lower quality anymore after I finish yours because I tried to start a different novel after yours and something felt amiss (not to throw shade on other authors of course) but your writing is just that good😅 I'm actually an aspiring writer and I hope I can write compelling stories like yours one day too

I think what you're describing is a martial artist or someone good at self defense or something of sorts cause assassins are literally just people who learnt lethal martial arts, and you don't need that to defend yourself against rapists, kidnappers etc... reason being that, while in normal martial arts(I don't mean fantasy martial arts) the goal is to suppress or overwhelm or defeat your opponent, for lethal martial arts the goal is to end a life as fast and efficient as possible. Due to this fundamental difference, a normal martial artist is good at suppression but takes a bit to end a life but an assassin will ALWAYS be aiming for the kill as such find themselves in a fix when they try to not kill leading to their moves being less useful or efficient
