ok I'm confused? what do you mean by "doesn't sound impressive" lol? There is nothing to be impressed about. It's a disgusting sickness that claimed lives of many people. I believe from want i remember that Yomite's either father or mother (Can't remember now but I think mother) died from it, so it was nice to see it appear again as a plot point for Yomite to overcome. Since the disease basically took his mother from him before he could see her ever again. I feel like the arc was very well done both with relationship development of Hu Tao and then Yomite triumphing over the disease. But that's just my take

Venti is an actual Archon which is presumably a higher form of god, a d he can get drunk...it isn't that strange for Yomite to get sick or infected, as we've never heard of any immunity or resistance from his part...there are many things that are weird in this world. If anything this isn't author's plot hole but genshin impact's overall...
