Feels bittersweet that one of the first web novels I ever read finally came to an end. I do feel more of the Chinese nationalistic rhetoric than before (maybe that was the condition to finish this novel) but I'm glad the author tied up some loose threads and gave the main characters a blissful ending. There is still hope for the future as well, so I will continue to support the author, whether that be continuing VM with short stories or starting a new novel.

This author needs to be more creative with last names, there's too many Gu's for me to keep track of. So far there's the (fake name) of that cult master's son, Yellow Gang leader and now this guy, too confusing

In Chinese, accepting a big black pot means acting as a scapegoat or taking the blame for something you didn't do. Eating the dead cat means something similar. I'm not sure what the stories behind it are exactly, but if I had to guess the black pot is burned, so accepting it means you will get the soot on your clothes and take the blame. For the second one, maybe you didn't cause the death of the cat but you take the fall for it and thus have to clean it up.

Does anyone know if the original APS was finished or not? I'm reading the MTL version since I couldn't stand this cliffhanger and it stops in around 100 chapters, with no updates since January 1. Would suck for another novel to be unfinished :/

I thought this merit was only for killing the other team, they alluded to this battlefield being controlled by a higher plane. If you could just team kill, it wouldn't be conductive to improving the strength of the human race, and why would the Emperor attack his own ancestor out of all the Heaven ranks here???
