If he made the Gu for them he could prepare a counter for it even stronger. "Oh Giant sun. Exactly. FY doing nothing would be more suspicious than him doing something like this. Even if all he gained from Western desert were some resource points he still would have gained something even more important. Time. Time to refine Gu, time to restore and stabilise his aparture again, time to raise the Gu Immortals in his aparture to replace the previous losses. Time to build up a reserve of immortal essence. He probably have some nice plots going on as well but no matter how the situation goes he is still the winner in this conflict. The longer it drags out the better for him. My bet is that he will use Tang clan to involve Giant Sun in this conflict to make it a mess and then just stoke the fire from time to time while he improves at a faster speed than them over in the East.

Even though he were an immortal in his previous life the knowledge he had of most things were quite shallow. After all there are a lot of truths he only found out after he was reborn that completely changes what he thought he knew of certain events. We have seen with Hei Lou Lan that an extreme physique isn't much of a problem if you belong to a super force and that there are reasons to keep those gu immortal seeds that have one hidden. FY probably just didn't know of those secrets before. For a lone Gu master or one from a tiny tribe it is a death sentence without outside intervention. Like how FY saved Bing. But Venerables have insane luck and some are from larger forces so if any of them had a physique it wouldn't be much of a hindrance unless there is something else that we don't know.

i think Fang Yuan have a huge advantage over all those others you mentioned that is the reason he stands out. He have a very clear goal he has set for himself and cares not at all about anything else. He don't care about any secondary motives unlike those others so he hesitates less because there are never really any other goals he have to take in to consideration. It is immortality or bust for him. The others usually want glory for themselves and their ascendants as well as power so each time they have to decide on something they have to take in to account their secondary goals as well. Like Wu Shuai will after thinking about it sacrifice 99,99% of his species to reach his goal of their long term supremacy and freedom. But since he is doing it for their benefit and not his own he still have to evaluate if everything is worth it for the greater good of their race and it tears at him. Fang Yuan can just discard everything at once without any hesitation which gives him a huge edge when it comes to doing split second decisions in tense situations. Others might settle for not reaching venerable status or the apex of the world if they can live a long happy life and ensure the safety of their clan for a while. And it isn't just sacrificing others but his own hard work that make him so dangerous. Most people usually suffer from sunken cost bias and pour more resources and work into something they have put effort into and won't willingly give up on it. Fang Yuan dont suffer from that weakness.

I think they mentioned his rank and his level at some point. I dont think he was even close to a venerable but he was a genius in other ways. He is famous not for his strength but how much he left as inheritances and how easy/effective they are. Like you wont get to be a top rate immortal just from having his inheritance but it is almost like a cheat code to grow fast by using blood path. Anyone can use it and its quite effective for everyone as long as they dont care about the suffering their victims will feel. So unlike a venerable inheritance that will have a super strong peak rank 8 in each generation this blood inheritance will lead to a horde of blood path cultivators of any level below that.

I feel all the shrek deaths have been so wasted. I still dont get why the first of them died and then they all smile and sacrifice themselves. 3 of them in those cubes. Why didnt they use those OP cubes earlier if not even quasi gods with 4 word battle armor can break them? Such a bad plot device just to have some "drama". And it doesnt even matter. Its only Tang Wulin, Gu Yuena, demon Empress and the sage king that is relevant now. So why have the fodder start dying after they became irrelevant? Would have fit much better if they sacrificed themselves one by one in the heat of the battle trying to save mankind. Way better than suicide because you feel sad.

His qi path dao mark count is probably at the venerable level or above already with him having over a million of them. A few of the stronger rank 8s we have seen dont even have a 100k dao marks. So in raw power he is there. Just lacks the rank 9 moves/gu and affinity level.

Just get it over with. The ghost cult and the abyssal creatures werent even that strong. None of the great beasts have needed to jump in yet and at least 3 of them should be at the peak of quasi god rank. Di Tian and the ming brothers should be the strongest beings alive on the DD plane besides the Demon Empress, GY and Tang Wulin. Yet none of them have even showed themselves so far in this battle.

They might not have the information. The clans are hiding that Fang Yuan is "trading" with them to avoid losing face. Its a humiliation to them so they dont want anyone to know about it. FY also have a good grasp of what resources the clans have so he probably only asks for luck material they actually have to avoid them making movements that can be tracked in treasure heaven. Unless they have high up spies in all of the clans HC cant see that FY is mass producing luck path immortal GU. They might think he is still needing and refining time path or some other path.

I dont mind backstory chapters as prelude for fighting chapters but having interesting fights interrupted with them breaks the pacing of the fight. All the little ******* and excitement that were there just disappears
