depending on background, I think the boy felt that only aunty is able to help in this situation as she is closest to care. his mom and dad may have deep pockets and people in places to help cover so sometimes having an 'outside' to the situation is best. however we also don't know if she was trying to take the child to somewhere where he could get help when the accident occurred.
