If you want to see it that way, sure. You can reduce it down to Grayson being power mad, or you could also look at it another way. He's been repressed in one way or another for his entire life, and now he's finally finding a way to exert himself upon the world instead of the other way around. In a way that is about as outlandish in comparison to his past life as it could be, no less. However you want to see it. :)
Hey man, all good. Not every story is for everyone, and that's just fine. I'm aware of how jarring the initial relationship for Suzumi and Grayson is, and it's something that I'll likely fix in an edited version of the story at some point. I've been told by many that they believe that Urahara is acting out of character, either to angry, cruel, or anything in between, and I have to agree. Mostly because it isn't my intention for him to be the same character as he was back in the show. Also, Yoruichi isn't present. Sending her to scout is only one way that Urahara is capable of collecting information, and the way he did it here was due to a deduction similar to 'keep your friends close, but your enemies closer'. There are reasons for Urahara being the way he is, and they have seemed to satisfy people so far. As for Grayson being a wimp? I don't think so, and I can't see why you'd think so either. Because he cried? Because he shows emotions beyond a stoic, psychopathic guise or just pure anger and teenage angst? Yes, Grayson cries, because suddenly having your entire world ripped from underneath you is scary, and being forced to question yourself and who and what you are is difficult. I can't, in good conscience, be told that Grayson is a wimp, when only yesterday I was told that he was 'too OP'. Maybe it's simply all a matter of perspective. Either way, I hope you return to Ribbon at some point, and if you don't that's fine. There's always another story out there, waiting for you to read it!
Up to you to decide that! But, there is reason behind the madness, of course! Whether you agree on how Urahara would act now, or in future when you understand where I'm writing him from, is up to you. However, I think there is good enough reason for him to be this way, especially with 'unknowns' :3
We must go back!
Grayson is still capable of seeing outlines! He can see the display stands that are in the room without issue, but anything beyond the shape is lost on him.
War plays heavily on the mind. However, he may soon return to be who he once was, in due time. :))
Such is the way of serialised content! I can only write so much a day at a consistent pace, so unfortunately, the cliffhangers are just a part of how the medium works. You can rest assured that I never try to create a cliff hanger situation, only that I need to stop writing, and thus there is a cliff hanger :)
There is romance yes, but do keep in mind that the main character is blind for story reasons, and I am decidedly not. Whether the story will have an accurate depiction of blindness is something I tried to get at least a little right, but due to the story being what it is, he finds spiritual reasons for his blindness and so forth. I hope you enjoy reading if you do decide to read!
Tessai wasn't really shown much in the manga and show, but he used to be the Captain of the Kido Corps, one of the three arms of Soul Society's military (The Thirteen Guard Captains, Onmitsudo (Soifon's assassin group), and the Kido Corps). Tessai will likely be much stronger in this fic due to the fact that he was the captain of the Kido Corps, one of, if not the best Kido user in Soul Society. So yeah :)
