I have not finished this novel but I am thoroughly confused about transitions. Are we still left in one ridiculously extended memory or was the female lead really transported elsewhere? I don't know that I can follow this storyline anymore.

Shes's technically 17 now... how old could she have possibly been when whatever occurred happened? They keep saying several years ago, several years ago she would've been a child. Why are they holding a childs' s actions against themselves?

I'm sure this comment is going to get a lot of hate but it's pretty clear to me at least, that the author has a clear bias against just about every country that isn't theirs. Which is well and good, you can't fault anyone for their patriotism. But the author really shows their bias to a bit of an extreme. Thank goodness readers don't share the same bias and continue to support.

This is likely an unpopular opinion but I'm getting tired of Xue Xi playing dumb when her mother is being disrespected. If she's on the spectrum I wish they'd come out and say it. Who is this unfeeling to their loved one plight?! And further more what is her ultimate goal with all of this studying? Is she going to remain a perpetual student?
