I think you got it wrong...Bale really cared for Scarlet (aka Red) coz I think he's also in love with her. But his twin brother Aiden got her first. That's why when she died, Bale hate Jasmine maybe they told him she was the reason for her death. And also if Jasmine listened carefully to Bale's wife confession when she was in prison, she can already connect the dots. That scarlet mentioned that Bale was just helping her.
