Besides the fire typing there should be very little in common, if you wanted to use it to strengthen him just do it at the beginning when you first catch him not like this. This feels like a cop out.

Also CharizardX get the dragon typing. Why not use more dragon type attacks, specifically dragon claw, Dragon Rush, or Dragon tail to make use of the typing, better stats, and overall mega evolution. Or find a Charizard Y stone to use his Charizard’s skill set better?

My biggest question is why use Charizard x and have it focus on special attacks when its strength statistically speaking is actually in physical attacks? Charizard Y is the one with the higher special attack stats.

So don’t be all judgey over him sitting in the cell while assuming his godson was being well taken care of by those who cared for them.

He didn’t know he could get out. He was a prisoner who was able to shift and while he did use his animates form to help his time in prison there’s no way he could have know for sure that if he escaped while transformed into a dog that he would be able to escape. The only reason he was desperate enough to attempt to escape was that the boy he swore to protect as a godfather was in trouble and seemingly in danger from the person who used to be a trusted friend he assumed he killed. That person being alive and next to a person he cares about was all he needed to take the biggest risk of his life to attempt to save said child.
