tl;dr: Decent story, lessened by ai used to increase wordcount. Decent story with a great start, but overall tedious. 40 chapters in I'm basically struggling to keep reading. The author has made it known that he uses chatgpt to help "enhance" his writing style, but it just seems to me like a way to increase the wordcount. Just about every paragraph I read can be condensed into 10 words because of how much fluff is added to them. Imagine if something in the book could be explained as beautiful, it would instead be written as "exquisitely ephemeral, transcendent in its visage, unequaled in its splendor," maybe a few times could be acceptable, but this happens every single paragraph. I understand the author added chatgpt to help increase his knowledge of words, but you can do that without making every single sentence seem like you're trying to reach your quota in an essay, or you can also buy a dictionary.
"Switching to my first person perspective"?
He just said "A man with no prejudice against mutants" and "A personal stake in the x-men," you don't need him to say it again here.
Ok dude, he laid a simple plan and this guy's being written like he's met a godly strategist. It's a decent story so far but you don't need a paragraph to explain that he was impressed.
Why would complimenting her penmanship bring on someone's wrath? Doesn't make sense.
God he’s nowhere near perfect, and hearing him repeat that everytime someone points out a flaw is getting annoying. I would say hopefully he gets that mentality out of his head but at this point I doubt that would happen.
Not so perfect now
This is getting more difficult to read
TLDR: Just watch the movie A nice premise, but terrible execution. Reading this is like reading a movie script, but worse. These series have been turned into video games for players to experience, yet there is no deviation of any kind in the plot or character actions. Take one of the characters, Angelica for example, she does the exact same actions as the movie protagonist from resident evil, she says the same things, comes to the exact same conclusions as the characters. It’s like I’m just reading a movie script but with commentary on the side.
Ok is this supposed to be panacea’s exact power or is this a mix of skitter and panacea? Are you just adding abilities on, like a mental link with his creations?
Dad’s life*
Simon is worse though
