Weirdo had no reason to introduce the character and imply something with the mission if he planned to do this anyway. She was introduced as a love interest and this guy suddenly changed his mind and made her into a love interest for a side character. At that point you could have just introduced a new character meant for him or never implied Kaela as a love interest in the first place. I hate shit like this.
