I put it in between the lines, Muzan's words were as if he doesn't know he can turn others into demon, only that his blood can kill people and make them suffer. The original soul of Yamato merged with Mc, the Mc being the dominant one. He learned of the brother's convo and came up with that conclusion

Agreed, the base stats in its basic form is abysmal and after it evolve once it is still weak, goodra is the weakest dragon type statistically
He was also in search of the pseudo legendary pokemon Goomy, he isn't fully interested in catching one yet because he already has a dragon-type pokemon on his team, and adding another one would just limit the versatility of his team.
