I feel like either MC will slip up while in disguise and call Homelander cap by mistake, thus revealing his identity, or the word Cap will eventually make Homelander snap and attack the MC.
Sure, a world of Blood Manipulators, Mind Readers, A-Trains, and Laser Sight. Definitely no problem can come to be from a stronger Supe joining the football team, running through some opponents, or giving themselves a heart attack while accelerating their own blood, or burning people left and right whenever they glare. Also the mind readers that reads the minds of the opposite gender during dates... That is totally not creepy and inherently disruptive of social order... Also the EXPLODING powers, possession, and the uncontrollable powers like Translucent's son... Yeah...
We are talking about making powered people the standard here... In a world where powers like Living Bomb, Laser Vision, and Longevity exists. What happens when someone is Homelander, another is Living Bomb, and another is Longevity guy? The Homelander will be the elite, the Bomb guy will either be railroaded into demolition type jobs, and the Longevity guy will be the only guy without powers in the world, only having a longer natural lifespan than others... There can be no equality if powers are so random and varied. The only way to uplift humanity can only be through a uniform boost that is equal for everyone. Or a major status enhancement that invalidates the variety factor, so if everyone has Homelander's level of durability then they wouldn't need to worry about any Living Bombs or accidental Laser Sight discharges during puberty, but someone with Super Intelligence would still be massively advantaged.
I hope Butcher talked with him first, the only reason Translucent died fast in the original is because Homelander was right on their tail, if not Butcher was going to make him squeal all he knew.
Except the Deep's tracker would show his location there... Wait... This might work actually. They have no reason to think A-Train is smuggling V for Homelander, has stolen some of the product for his personal use, or that he has stashed them inside his secret girlfriend's house... Yeah, there is no reason to think Vought could suspect Deep as the thief in this case... Excluding the chance of them looking through the camera records, see an invisible man, and then look up a map of all the Seven's locations at that time. Or use Mesmer on the landlord... Then again he might die soon so that route of investigation might get closed too. Also as heroes with evil tendencies I don't think Vought would create long lasting record keeping of where the Seven goes in case their location/time data got leaked to match some of the evil shit they do outside.
Don't they already though? They make new movies with the Seven that profits them massively. They can likely make games, if they are making movies then a lesser form of media like games(for the time this story takes place in) and books, well, it should be easy for them to reach the top of the market there. Politics is a hard sell because Vought has military might and involving them in politics would give them MASSIVE power that no one with a tiny bit of power would be willing to give away. Military is what they are now stepping into, helped by the powered terrorists. Social media can be easily grabbed with their star heroes, and news is part of their tool set too since social media and star power can combine into that. Environmental causes is one Ivan put Deep on, so that is getting covered. And lastly finance... A giant like Vought, even if it is a pharmaceutical company should have enough weight and reach to easily manipulate the market.
That doesn't quite make senses though... Each monster's desire is different, so every time he copies a power he should be gaining a new desire to fight against.
Wait, does this mean deal a killing blow that kills him within three minutes or does the kill timer start right from scanning? What happens if he fails? Can he try again?
