This guy is a terrible father. He has left his 2 other kids at his other house while his wife is in prison. The twins are cannon fodder villains but that doesn’t make him a good guy for leaving abruptly and never returning. His treatment of them is actually worse than his treatment of the MC was.

Starts out okay (grading on a curve for the genre) and then rapidly declines. Lots of weird tonal shifts before it mostly settles into melodrama featuring a large cast of side characters that are mostly uninteresting. FL and ML both seem to have been lobotomized at some point in the middle of the story and their behavior becomes incomprehensible.
