Well, at that point in time most of the gods were either killed, sealed or subversient to Gaius, so they couldn't help. Look at Chronos, Nemus and Anulo, theyacted against Gaius will and as a result, one got sealed, another got killed, and the last is still MIA. The fact that they didn't help doesn't mean they didn't want to, or tried. It just mean they failed.

What subpar quality ? I haven't noticed anything. Typos are something that happens to everyone, especially when the spell checking decide to 'help'. If you feel a burn out coming, don't worry about us and take a break. Your health is the most important since you're the only one who can write your story, and it's not like I lack novels to read anyways, I'm late on so many of them XDXDXD
