For the author of this novel, after reading the beginning, I couldn't help but think... This guy sounds a bit like me. Life isn't worth living the way you've been living it... You need to cultivate some ambition. Read chapter 36 of the fanfiction, Prince of waste, reborn into fallout as a Molag/deathclaw.
There are two side to the same coin, what you say is true, many Americans are like that, but it's only at the bottom of the barrel. America is the most powerful, influential nation for a reason. but that's not where the spotlight shines. America is a paradox of contradictions, where the loudest voices often overshadow the silent heroes. Yet, within this cacophony lies the essence of its dynamism. It's a land where the weight of history intersects with the boundless horizon of possibility. The true power of America doesn't solely lie in its might, but in its ability to navigate the complexities of freedom, justice, and the pursuit of happiness.
You need to be very careful of who you hang around. People are like temperature. They influence each other. If you're at 100 degrees and your surrounded by a bunch of people at 40 degrees your temperature will undoubtedly fall to match their own. Often times, you won't notice it.... So, take the time to step back and analyze your situation. Do the people around you want to better themselves? Do they possess bad habits? Addictions? Do perceived friends act like friends? Do family actually possess familial values? If not, you might want to adjust how you interact with these kinds of people.
You are my demographic. You are exactly the type of person I was attempting to reach out to. The fact that YOU reached out, means that not only does some part of you agree with what I'm saying, but deep inside of you, there is a wounded soldier. A part of you that is willing. Willing to gnash his teeth, beat his chest and fight for a change. Do not underestimate how much potential you have. If I had to give you some advice... Advice that will give you even a small bit of direction. It is something important I thought up one day, Now, after reading this, close your eyes and imagine. A realistic version of your future self is standing behind you. What do you imagine that he looks like? How strong is he or she? How confident? How rich? How smart? Build the image of your ideal self in your head.... Imagine it in as detailed a way as possible. Now, I want you to think about something.... The person in your head. Your Ideal ultimate self... How does that person spend their time? How long are they in the gym? How long do they study? How disciplined are they? How far are THEY willing to go for their dreams? How hard do they FIGHT. If you truly want to change, take some time every day, even just five minutes, set an alarm if you forget. Meditate and build on that image. I glared at my reflection in the mirror, And I spoke with TRUE conviction, I spoke with emotion, and with desire. I told myself. "This is your last chance, if you quit again, there will be no redemption." Spoken with hate, with disgust.... But.... the truth is it was not actually me who was speaking. Rather, almost on the level of a supernatural power, it was the future self I had cultivated in my mind, He was standing behind me, it was so powerful that for a moment, he possessed me, he gave me my last warning. I imagined him glaring at me, holding a stained whip. An intimidating frame, toned muscles, intelligence, and wisdom in his eyes... But the most important part was his own bloodied back. Discipline was the core that forged the image I had in my mind.
Unfortunately, while I did make some adjustments to the story in the revisions, I didn't make any actual new chapters. I'll get access to them at some point and hopefully, I'll have them uploaded. Maybe it'll serve as a sort of Christmas gift.
I wish you the best. I had a lot of trouble adjusting my mindset when I started. I kept thinking, how do I change my fundamental thinking? Earl nightingale said something along these lines. Every famous philosopher across humanities long history seemed to agree with each other on one point, and that is.... "You are what you think." It means that if you act like your already successful, the chances of you achieving your goals drastically increase, whereas if you act like you've already failed, then wining becomes impossible..... Now this confused me.... How do I act rich, without actually being rich? Do I go and start eating at fancy restaurants? Thats not it. Do I buy an expensive car? Nope..... I was stuck.... I had no idea how to "think" rich. How to achieve the legendary "Success" mindset..... But eventually, I did come to an answer.... I simply adjusted Earl Nightingales words slightly. Instead of "You are what you think" I changed it to "You are what you listen to" So, I brainwashed myself. I went through my YouTube algorithm and outside of a few channels I removed all non-helpful and non-growth-related content. I then constantly downed myself in philosophy for months on end. I quickly developed my Spiritual outlook and altered my very essence. Soon, I noticed things that previously annoyed me, I no longer cared about. It was a slow gradual adjustment but soon I was completely geared towards grasping my own future.
I'm not sure if you're an English speaker or if I misunderstood. But you should join my Facebook page, Gigma C.O.S. You don't need to be heavily invested or anything. Just post your progress. You sound like an Interesting person and I believe surrounding yourself with people who are all hell-bent on bettering themselves will be a great influence on your immediate motivation, as well as your long term core mentality. It isn't much to look at now, but I already know, It's only a matter of time until success is achieved.
I cannot even begin to describe how utterly humiliated I am. The truth is, I wanted to go through it after I finished to make myself look a bit more noble. But that would be a lie. It would make everything I was trying to say seem empty. This is my ugly truth. I am getting better, and with time, I will achieve greatness.
I'm going to post something important to my old fanfiction. It's a message, as well as an invitation. look at it, don't look at it. I'm doing fine, but back then I was in a very low point in my life.
Lol, he answers his own question. The reason why your stuck woking as a convinence store worker is because your wasting your time watching tv instead of pursuing personal growth.
he is right.
