He yelled in pain after puking. I saw that some soldiers were planning on shooting me. I grabbed the man in red and threw him at those soldiers. Their guns hit him. As I was about to continue the fight, the woman yelled, and all soldier lowered their guns. The man in red was panting. She put her hand on his shoulder before talking to him and then coming my way. I did not sense any animosity from her unlike the others around us. I took a fighting stance and waited to see what she would do. She still approached me and did something I did not expect. She hugged me?! I tried to free myself, but I felt all my strength leaving me. Slowly, I stopped struggling and I started crying. If Substitution Jutsu is a space-time jutsu, why even bother learning anything else? In this fanfic, Substitution is just a high-speed movement and dodging technique. When Naruto uses Substitution, he prepares a log inside storage scrolls. He activates the jutsu by channeling chakra into his ankles as he moves, leaving behind a puff of smoke. The log is released from the storage seal, substituting the place of the user, while the user moves to a safe location. This jutsu works for about 10 feet and has a flaw: tunnel vision. If the user looks at a certain location to move, an enemy notices it and then just attacks where the user is supposed to appear. It's useful, but not overpowered.

Actually you aren't wrong... But Orochimaru's regeneration jutsu is also called substitution for some reason... And wiki says you need to be struck or damaged use substitution... And shunsin is a superior movement jutsu that translates to teleportation in English but more of instantaneous movement instead of space time teleportation... Also transformation jutsu does change your shape but your weight & mass remains the same... The joint toad transformation & dog transformation of Inuzuka clan are high level advanced technique... Naruto trained to transform with toads later...

Substitution is not Shunshin... User don't control their movements... Substitution push n pull user & substitute in their place... Every nation familiarised themselves with different things to substitute... Leaf shinobi does it with log because there are many trees... Garage does it with sand... Orochimaru with Mud which many mistake for clones...
