strictly speaking i will stand on sprits side as what they think was correct MC is a very selfish person who knows in future for his children he might definitely go to the spirits for their power their fear is also true the technique might remain in their family for his life time but after that it may be known to outside world and many people have bet their life for much worse his main fault lies in fact that he Knowingly entered the plot instead of letting go
