I get the multitude of other reasons for her to be mad at him, but this one is hard to swallow. Not divorcing the scheming wife and letting her and her daughter hurt her over and over is more than enough, but him not reacting in time to her demands to tell her what he thinks will put her in danger?

Poor guy, he has truly treated her as a daughter through out this story. He’s not the best, but certainly light years better than the other scummy fathers typically seen in this trope.
