Hey everyone, i’m the author of this mess, and yes, i’m shamelessly giving my own novel 5 stars. why? because this is the kind of hxh fanfic i always wanted to read. this story follows ryu, a guy who dies like a cliché in front of his screen and wakes up as a 7-year-old orphan in the hunter x hunter world. no instant nen, no “i am secretly stronger than hisoka at age 10” nonsense. he starts at the bottom: orphanage, shitty food, weak body, learning how the world actually works before he even dreams of exams or nen. the focus isn’t just the main cast; they’re side content. the core is worldbuilding, street-level survival, realistic growth, and the darker parts of what an hxh-style world would be like if it wasn’t safely behind a screen. ryu uses his meta knowledge as theory only: he knows nen exists, but he has to earn everything the hard way through training, jobs, and getting his face metaphorically (and sometimes literally) kicked in. if you like: slow-burn power progression heavy POV, internal monologue, and character mentality more realistic take on hxh society (gangs, pits, politics, not just exams) a protagonist who’s sarcastic, strategic, and a bit of an edgelord without turning into a cringe god …then this is for you. i don’t own hunter x hunter or bungou stray dogs. all rights to their respective authors. i only own my MC, his trauma, and his bad decisions. please don’t sue me.
