So here I was thinking, it feels like Joshua is the author showing us what Ves would have been without his mother interfering and waisting his genetic aptitude. It feels like Joshua is basically the polar opposite character of Ves. Where Ves is cynical, Joshua is optimistic, where Ves sees his men as assets, Joshua sees them as comrades, where Ves sees the world in dark shades of gray, Joshua mostly sees the best in everything. In my honest opinion, if the author ever decides to orchestrate Ves's downfall, it will begin when Joshua voluntarily leaves him. What do you guys think?

I have one big concern about the Komodo war, and it is that it is better for the 2 neighbouring star sectors that the Coalition wins, since it will most likely collapse upon itself from internal strife over which territory belongs to which partner. I fear that the hegemony will end up losing this war because the neighbouring star sectors will interfere.

A wild thought: Isn't true resonance essentially like a "stand" from "JoJo's bizarre adventure"? I mean, we know that resonance can achieve reality bending effects, just like a stand, true resonance creates a giant resonance mech, kind of like a mech pilot's version of a stand, and resonance is achieved through force of will, which is similar to the "battle intent" that takes the shape of the stand in Jojo? Yet more food for thought... **: also, when is Joshua going to do "THE WORLDO"?

Do you think that at the end of the novel, the war between the aliens and humanity will be going poorly for the latter because of how divided it is, and Ves will do this kind of ceremony to create a "guardian spirit of humanity" to change the tides of the war? Food for thought...

This has nothing to do with the chapter. Does anyone think Joshua is the "Hero" character of this story?

I just had a thought: What if Ves' character was written somewhat differently? What if he was driven by a goal and was ready to sacrifice anything to achieve it? What if he wasn't so hypocritical and recognised himself for what he is instead of whining and trying to find excuses for everything? What if during the starlight megalodon arc, instead of seeming like an unfeeling research maniac, he showcased some emotional distress over his actions yet still proceeded with them because he believed that the expedition would be doomed without taking such drastic measures? What if, each time he messed with other people's souls, he did it purely to further his goals, knowing full well the consequences, but accepting the reality of his actions? And actually, every time he committed atrocities, he did it and strove forward because he believed that if he stopped, all the horrors he committed would have been in vain, and the guilt he felt towards his actions? What if despite becoming a monster, we were shown that he still retained some fragments of humanity, and was capable of sacrificing some of his benefits yet still striving to achieve his dream? I was just wondering, and asking this question to the likes of battlelord who have been greatly invested in the novel since the beginning, would you have rooted for such a villain Ves? Would he still receive such hatred from the audience?
