Dumbledore won't arrive until the following night. The timeline is: Voldemort attacks, his fall is reported in the newspaper, Minerva sits in front of the Dursleys' house all day in her cat form, and finally, at night, Dumbledore arrives, followed shortly after by Hagrid with Harry.

The end of the book, not exactly, but it wouldn't be far off.
