I think it will repeat most of what was said before, but why would you try to have the exact same quantity of a magnitude as a unit if even that unit can be redefined in real life? And, if you use the current definition, which is pretty dificult to measure, there exist a problem about making the rest of the world able to know how long is it. By the way, I don't know if you read enough of this thread, but I want to remember that we are not talking about a metric system like system but the quantity of distance that is defined as 1 unit of distance.

One is magnitude and the other is unit. The unit serve to refer to the magnitude quantitatively, so you need to define a unitary quantity and then use them. The problem is not what is one unit but ensure that when one says a number to refer to the magnitude, the other understand the same quantity of the magnitude
