Your third point, is my point. If I were to be in the world of Naruto, and someone tried to assassinate me anbu style (full squad with a healer and blank masks) my go to thought would automatically be ROOT. So for it to not be Takuma's when he is dealing with the Uchiha clan and KNOWS the massacre is coming just doesn't mesh with my thinking.
