He could be a teacher if you want him interacting with the students. Or if you want him busy but off-screen to focus more on Mark and the students, you could send him off to America. Japan may be the main focus of the anime, but its certainly isnt the entire world. If he wants to take over the world he's definitely going to need more than just Japan in his pocket.

So he just accepts that there is a kingdom north of the land of always winter, where a family of Starks happen to live. Some random stranger comes up and says he's from some far off place never known or heard of before and happens to be a Stark... at best, he's regarded as a possible bastard. Didn't get get the memories of Guts? Shouldn't this skill be, like, a lot higher? The guy has been swinging the sword practically since he could walk. Even if it isn't the most refined, decades of experience should account for something.
