BTW, if you are having trouble with warcraft heroes. you can also use league of legends characters. there's over 100 of them and they have a similar spell ratio with warcraft heroes.

Also check out the Conquest of Azeroth hero showcase. These are custom classes from a WoW private server however all classes on this game are as lore accurate as possible more inspiration for further heroes

there is a YouTube channel under the name "Athelarius" he does a heap of Azeroth Lore, like Illidans complete story through cinematic and gameplay or Sylvanas' story as well and also arthus' story. This YouTube channel should help with reference points and maybe some inspiration for further characters and as for OC's instead of completely new characters, maybe some kind of crossover? maybe a piece of fiction you enjoy, you can pull the main character over from that and add it to the famillia.

Look no matter how good your story is, there will always be someone who doesn't like it. All you have to do is write a story you like.
