If you were to continue writing this as it is with your mental state you would grow to hate it and it would be telling in your future writing. I honestly believe you should do what you want to do :) I'm looking forward to the new story, maybe do some more general planning before cranking out chapters? So you aren't at a point where you're not sure where the MC is headed. The MC as Flamel's son seems interesting! Good luck!
