Usually, in this type of novel, people become obsessed with the game years before the reveal of supernatural influences/effects. Half the time the regressor mc's have played for years without being exposed to the truth and don't learn about it until their rebirth. Realistically, if these games show strengthening results and powers quickly, the governments of the world should be sending out kill squads to visit griefers at home as well as all previously known criminals.
So his soul has enduring continous, high pressure? Sounds about right.
Now, this is more accurate than a lot of these. A 16yo's brain is awash in hormones, and as long as they are using that brain instead of their soul puppeting the body, they are going to be affected.
