This story really had potential at the beginning. It’s a shame it turned out bad. There was no character development and at some point the story was just dragging. It was written poorly, kind of tasteless, couldn’t like any character. Fl turned to be spineless and I don’t even know how to describe Ml. There were a lot of characters that were presented to us yet the story would not have changed much had they not been mentioned. Don’t even remember what they were there for.
Thank for resuming the story for me. I am currently in the 300 chapters nearing 400 and you told me all I needed to know. I’m already bored and do not like any character in this book. Don’t have to waste my time continuing reading this. It’s a shame considering I kind of liked author’s other book “ His Rui”.
I’ll be honest here. I really liked this story the first time I read it. Even though I did not like Xi Ying at the beginning you eventually get to appreciate him a bit by the end. To me how he treated Li Rui was unforgivable no matter what, but I also did understand that they’re meant to be. The thing is I have read the book three times now and some things still do not set well with me till now. Whatever one may say you can’t refute the fact the Rui’s parents were not a good parents. They did not even believe her when the incident took place nor did they try to investigate what happened. Her father literally used his own daughter to protect his wife because in his eyes she was more important. He could not stand to see his wife in distress and unhappy, so he decided to sacrifice his daughter’s happiness for hers. Her mother is no better, until the end she could not even tell that most of the problems occurring in her daughters life and her family are related to her. Even Xi Ying said that she was a very stupid woman to not be able to see all of this. The emperor loving her was not her fault we all agree about that. But how could she not see that her daughter was the collateral of her naivety?? It’s because she’s how she’s that her husband dare take big measures without telling her. To me it’s like she was the real heroine of the story. All her life she got to be carefree and loved by everyone without having to worry about anything, while everybody else had to suffer and take the brunt of the stick for her to get a ressemble of happiness. I also believe that Yi Junjie deserved his chance with Rui. I know I said that Ying and Rui were meant to be, but I would have loved to see an alternate life where Rui and Junjie got a happy ending (that’s just a wishful thinking). The love of Junjie was more realistic and appealed to me a big time. He really did his best for Rui, be it before the incident, during the 4 years and after. As for Zhang Wei and Huiqin can’t say much about them. Was more engrossed in Xi-Li story. Sorry for the long rant just wanted share my thoughts.🙏
Thanks for the chapter.😊 But I find it a bit unreasonable of NL to try to hurt his mothers family when the other party did not do anything but not landing a hand to their mother. They should just ignore them like strangers after all none is obliged to help another in need. That’s just my opinion (unless they have a hand in the demise of the jun family in the capital city then they should take revenge). English is not my first language so sorry if I said something weird.🫣
The beginning was okay. You’ll get upset at the male lead and his family because of the way they treat female lead. Then you’ll come to appreciate them a bit and there’ll be character development for them and a change in a good way of their relationships. The problem is it become boring and ridiculous afterwards. FL is practically brainless. She is very stupid. So dump that at some point I just wanted the ML to dump her. She’s willfull, always makes a mess and when confronted with the consequences of her actions she will cry and wait for the ML to comfort her. She never learns I don’t see what’s there to like about her seriously. There’s nothing likeable about her to be honest. Just my feelings though.
To me it doesn’t really matter whether one may like her or not. She did what was necessary in order to survive with what she had in her hands in that era. Was she right? Was she wrong? It’s debatable depending of one’s mentality. I hope to see one side story about her and An Yi in the future if they’re still alive.☺️☺️
