So basically enjoying torturing people with excuses and personal power. So the mostly positive main character just turned into power hungry psycho :(
The last part of the plan was to let them out after the vehicles left. He then shot their feet making them not able to escape. Mark shot the incoming Biters afterwards. It was to ensure that the three would not have an easy way out. The Biters would only bite the three and go away. Since that was the case, why not turn the Biters into Eaters? Still all this is just excuses and what ifs. I can understand killing him in the heat of the moment. But right now it's premeditated murder with some delusional greater good justification.
They just did not know that Mark already planned to do this since he and Abbygale returned after that hair-raising fight. If the event on the rooftop where three of the congresswoman's bodyguards died did not happen and Garcia came in front of him to apologize, Mark would have had let them go. However, that was not the case fueling Mark's desire to eliminate them. - kahro1yrCommented

It's like this Kettis. In real life it would be just a bit weird rock without all this foreshadowing and worrying. But since this is a story it must be an important rock that will end up helping us.

What concerns, it's a random rock. You can find weird ones laying anywhere. I feel that this is too much story where only important rocks are mentioned. In real life nobody can check every rock.

Doesn't matter it's not like she could even understand what went wrong. I feel the author was aiming for this stupid out of the blue yelling effect making Gloriana feel fictional. I mean I don't like her but so far she made sense at least. This time that yelling was plain weird.
