Could be wrong, but in the manga/anime, aura acts more like willpower. Good comparison being haki from One Piece. Meanwhile Viridian Force is more like life force and is the actual healing energy in Pokemon. Know Viridian Force users are Giovani and Green, both can heal injured Pokemon and use it as a temporary power enhancer for Pokemon.
