Mercenary tasked to fix another world

After finally meeting his end as a indentured mercenary in service of the USIE civil cooperation bureau, Tom finds himself in front of what he quickly comes to terms with is a god. This god has one question from him: Name 3 things you would need to fix my world. Finding himself under new employment after his death, Tom finds himself transported to a world of magic and swords, there he must complete the tasks of his new patron, but for the first time in many years Tom starts finding enjoyment in his work, afterall, there’s nothing better than ending slave traders and other scum that take advantage of people and sell them like goods. Although faced with overwhelming odds, Tom still has his preferred rifle, so he begins a journey, tasked to save this world from dark forces and corruption. After coming home one night after a night in the town and wrecking his favourite fighter in the immersive space simulator Interstellar online, Mike wakes up with a significant hangover to find he has been magically transported into his favourite game and taken the place of his in-game avatar, currently inside the ship he had wrecked the night before. To make matters worse, Mike's in-game account has been wiped off the credits he spent years grinding for, but worse yet the life support systems are rapidly running out of fresh air. In overcoming the seemingly endless series of challenges to survive Mike manages to befriend a former pirate, but also piss off multiple mega corporations and criminal organizations. To add insult to injury, the world resembling Interstellar online Mike finds himself in seems to have gone a few years back in time, to right around the time Interstellar online had its first contact event, a galaxy-spanning first contact war. Starship commander trapped in a fantasy world

After crash landing in what turns out to be a fantasy world, the orbital marine Dax will have to fight the powers that occupy the world to reclaim the technology that got stranded along with him and eventually repair his crashed ship to return to his own world. On the way he discovers the rule breaking power of mana, a special particle that seems naive to the world he now is a part of. Feeling seriously outgunned Dax places a priority on regaining his lost weaponry that is scattered throughout the world, ranging in size and effectiveness from electromagnetically powered assault rifles, powered exoskeletons and autonomous drones from the size of a spying UAV to heavy assault ships. But the marine is not alone in his search those weapons, the powers of the world he now finds himself a part of is quickly realizing that something outside their realm of understanding has graced the planet and that those artefacts trapped inside large floating black sphere’s hold vast strategic value. Dax is then faced with a complex problem, he must secure the technology that he needs to leave while at the same time make sure the tools of war from his world is not misused at the cost of being made a target by powers he fails to fully understand. On his way Dax will have run ins with various powers, some of them hostile, some of them a bit more amenable to persuasion and mutual cooperation. After all, what is a knight, king, angel, demon or grand wizard to a railgun or even a tactical class high energy laser in orbit? They’re soft targets. For the record, English is not my first language, so there might be some spelling/grammar mistakes here and there. I’ve been getting better at writing over the last year or so, and have plans to go back and edit my old chapters, but it’s really hard to find the time. After decades of overexploitation, the earth's natural resources were running out and the United States of America and the Chinese-Soviet federation both started to suffer from energy shortages to sustain the zero-sum game they had been playing for the last 94 years, the cold war finally seemed like it was starting to warm up. But then it seemed like a single corporation saved the world overnight, the Artemis collective solved the energy crisis by achieving viable fusion energy by using a rare element mined on the moon. The Artemis collective saved the world, but in doing so, and establishing a permanent presence on the moon they might have awakened something the human race was not ready for.
