pro; a decent book drawing from many other books painting a simple to understand power structure that makes it easy to digest and interesting enough to draw you in. irrelevant power ups are skipped, and fight scenes are engaging yet succinct enough not to be annoying. cons; mental health issues being prolonged and exaggerated in a rather irritating manner. 13 years and 60 chapters later, a grown man in a child's body still doesn't understand his own self. fiction is a gateway away from the mundane and self evident failures of real life, who wants to escape real life to deal with a man-child. 5/10 for me, easily consumable but nasty plot issues.
Started off good, but plot holes, errors, and silly decisions ruined it. Unless you're really bored, I wouldn't recommend it.
it's decent, right up to 200 where it basically becomes a different book lol... idk if a few chapters got miss placed but it makes no sense after that point
If you can stand the nationalism nonsense, it's not half bad solid 3.5/5. Other than a ridiculous harem, it does keep to its main theme, which is outstanding considering the competition. There are surprisingly few grammatical errors considering that the main character has 'flawless' comprehension of the English language but refuses to speak it, simply because it's not Hua...
was going really well until about chp300 then it just became confusing cultivator nonsense seems like there are chapter skips or something because there are plenty of references after chp300 that are never actually brought up it simply becomes cultivator nationalism at that point even the sign in system basically becomes background at that point rarely getting a mention every 50ish chp
am I really the only one who wants to slap the author for calling a spider an insect? they are not the same at all lol. that's like saying apes and humans are the same ... 😭
after chapter 100 half the chapter is basically copy paste of recap, idk why it has a harem tag no r18 or even vanilla smut so?!? honestly it started good then went downhill like the author gave up and wanted to finish it asap with no real plan of action. don't bother wasting your clings reading this.
This was a pretty good read. I won't lie though...that harem tag got me feeling salty. There is no smut at all in this it's about as vanilla as vanilla gets for r18. And the man doesn't even have a harem lol, he legit 'unintentionally' cheats on his at the time gf. Fair warning I've only gotten to 2700-2800. Maybe it changes, lol. Overall, it's a good read; maybe even great, but if you're looking for something other than hack and slash, this isn't for you.
so just guessing but this is Chinese in origin, usually they use surnames first and given names last? so Lin xuan...xuan is his name right? if Lin is his surname why are his children using his given name as their surname? shouldn't they be Lin 1, Lin 2, ...? not Xuan 1, Xuan 2?
am I the only one that gets pissed off when the mc does some damnable thing that is irreversible and illogical, tbh I would prefer some dumbass plot armor to (destroy future becoming an abomination/gaining massive irreparable weakness) although to be fair this isn't the worst one... I remember being so disgusted by an mc giving up his memories for power he really didn't need that I quit reading the book even though I had prepaid 200 more chapters lol.
Honestly, it's not a horrible book. However, when I read something that starts with farm system I want the farm system... not a convoluted magic, animal, enslavement, sexually confused; mess. I don't care if he's gay, straight, or even bi; but pick one and have relevance to the story. The rest is just a mess that I don't want to touch with a 10ft pole. 155ch in and it was just a bad impulse buy.
There are a lot of things about this book that are interesting and new, however... The title of the book should have been adventures of a store owner. 😂🤣😂 It gets repetitive and rather boring fairly quickly. In 600 chapters it basically follows; store 1-3 chapters, training 2-10 chapters, game 1-10 chapters... rinse and repeat. In those 600 chapters the owner goes on 1 in house slaughter, and 2 outside 'adventures' once to wipe out enemies, the other to 'have fun killing shit'. Almost everything about the actual store process is skipped and random slaughter is added as filler... It's a good read for casual 1-4 chapter per day readers, but it lacks any hook that gives it's audience a 'what happens next?!?' feeling.
the premise of the story is great however the execution falls flat on it's face. it's more of a daily journal than a story, and it feels very distant as if it's being told to you by a cousin's friend's uncle; who may or may not have been there to witness it. there are a lot of contradictions which are very annoying in and of itself; he starts off absorbing crystals in the dungeon then later decides it's stupid and dangerous... ok sure no problem there, he upgrades skills and gets a wealth of knowledge to go with the skill that makes it similar to him having practiced said skill for weeks or months, then turns around and decides he needs to train and train and train to comprehend the skill himself... I don't understand that logic, the power system introduced into the story revolves around absorbing stat crystals to progress in strength, and yet, the character trains and trains and trains... and trains, he gets system points for defeating monsters, yet avoids combat; except for the first few chapters in which he absolutely wrecks them, only to Sophie become weak af in subsequent chapters... he wants to learn sword, magic, and archery, but chooses heavy armor instead of light or even leather armor and as if that wasn't wanky enough throw in gravity bracelets, anklets, and belt for fun... he does get stronger by absorbing stat crystals right?! occasionally the author will get in a rut regarding a certain idea and expound upon it for two paragraphs when s simple sentence was all that was necessary example being he forgot to eat the previous day and was hungry, he was hungry because he hadn't eaten he ate without any manners because he hadn't eaten the previous day. then the final and perhaps most annoying thing about this story, every action with almost 50% of every sentence is proceeded by he... he starts he does he's hungry he...he...he but occasionally the author will sometimes call the mc our mc so there is that. all in all I think the idea for this story was fantastic, it could've been wrapped up nicely in 3-500ch; however, due to sheer freaking mind boggling murder it has been turned into an inept captains log. without a massive revamp and serious editing I can't honestly say I'd ever recommend this book to anyone. in all honesty I never bother writing reviews good or bad, and yet this book has managed to make me so irritated... ... ugh just do yourself a favor and don't bother reading this book.
