Man, just because of this chapter, this fanfic lost 2 or 3 stars. 4.8 stars - 3 = 1.8 stars. I will try to read more, but it is very disappointing.
A very good novel with excellent writing—normally a 4.5-star read. However, I’m only giving it 2.5 stars for one reason: the more I read, the more frustrated I get. The level of unnecessary dragging is unbelievable—everything, absolutely everything, has to be stretched out. At first, it was fine, but as the story progressed, I started skipping chapters. The damn author insists on building suspense even over the protagonist’s chess piece. Say what you will, but I hate forced plot devices. ‘We won’t unlock your Sacred Gear’—just so the author can drag the story out for five more chapters of unnecessary tension.
The real problem isn’t the 5 years; the problem is that in 15 chapters, the MC doesn’t do anything. He just shows that he’s a genius, picks up two orphans, and that’s it. There’s no significant development in 15 chapters.

The writing is very good, and the idea had potential, but the execution left a lot to be desired. Everything feels forced, especially the protagonist's childhood, which affects immersion. I’m giving it three stars for the initial concept, but the way suffering is portrayed seems more like the author's indulgence than a narrative necessity. In the end, the justification that "God wanted him to suffer" feels like nothing more than an excuse to exaggerate the drama in a gratuitous and unnecessary way.
