it's ok as i said it is just a pet peeve of the hardcore locals like those who have called the city home since before independence. and really no one will even find it offensive just mildly irritating so what i mean to say is that you don't have to apologise because you didn't really do or say anything wrong (there had after all been a time when even govt of India referred to it as 'bangalore') I was just adding my two cents/paise just because I could. I am glad you replied though
just a pet peeve as a native- it had always been Bengaluru in kannada the government just converted that etymologically to English recently.( maybe not that recent since even that had been a decade ago ). you can ignore this but comment but really as a native i find it irritating when someone says' it used to be Bangalore and now it's Bengaluru '. no it was always Bengaluru .
