To clear any confusion (hopefully): the given list of Chinese names are to be the surnames of each successive generation in order from the founding/first generation person having Ren as their surname (in this case Lin RenFeng, Lin is family surname, Ren is the generations surname and Feng is the given name). Btw, usually these lists are made from poems (I think) so they’re not completely random. For the protagonist, his generation are the 15 generation of descendants (counting from Lin Renfeng) and all will have Tian as their generational surname. So example, Lin TianMing (protagonist) or Lin TianYue (sister). His grandpas generation will be 2 surnames prior to Tian so it will be Lin Shi and then given name (could be Yun or Xue or Skibidi, wtvr they want).
