There are many reasons for OCs, ignoring the obvious like Author that didn't want to just rewrite the canon with minimal changes. Like, ignoring that OC MC is quite common, I think your problem is with female OC (that is not confirmed OC yet)? Maybe she will die and author doesn't want to 'waste' BNHA character on that? Or non of BNHA characters fit into the MC's backstory without changing the original plot significantly enough that author would need to make changes? I could literally write you an article or two on that topic if iIhad time and motivation.
