Training with Nephis until sweat covered their bodies and a pleasant fatigue settled in their muscles. Laying on the moss and staring at the dreamlike sky, unbothered by the movements of the world. Wasn’t Sunny the cook of the group? I mean, I’m sure she’s ok and all as she spent a long time stuck in the nightmare by herself. But he is the one walking around with the grocery store in his storage, not her. 🤣
Nephis had really outdone herself this time. To think that she could cook up something so tasty with so few ingredients… even the memories of the grotesque tunnel could not slow Sunny down. He attacked the roasted meat like a hungry wolf, annihilating it in no time. I’m curious as to how much ‘reality’ this nightmare has since they entered with their physical bodies. As such, since they are physically traveling back in time on this river, when they exit the trial as Saints, will they actually exit at some point in the past? 🧐

It seems to me that the nightmare was revealing their greatest weaknesses so that they could learn from them and grow to overcome them.
She had been so strong, but the Nightmare made her weak. She had been so proud, but the Nightmare made her beg for mercy on her knees. He wasn't sure he could imagine how painful it was for her, to sacrifice the two things that were at the core of her sense of self. - Kamitenbatsu2dCommented
I feel like the whole ‘the gods are dead’ thing is a misnomer. Especially if we remember that Sunny ‘woke up a dead god’ in his first trial. I mean, dead things don’t wake up, right? So I feel like ‘death’ to the gods means something different than it does to the mortals. Perhaps, the gods entered ‘the cycle of reincarnation’ and now these people with the touch divinity are unknowingly their reincarnations? Or maybe they just retired and these are their descendants? 🤷🏻♂️

Well, as mentioned earlier, the river is ‘out side’ of time. So it is theroretically possible for his past, present, and future to take place at the same time. As such, his future self creating something is kind of happening both ‘right now’ and ‘a long time ago’ in a way. Which could explain how he has it.
The third explanation had to do with the Great River, and the nature of time. Since time worked strangely in this Nightmare, it was… maybe?... possible that Sunny would create the Key of the Estuary in the future, but was somehow capable of already possessing it in the present. - Kamitenbatsu2dCommented
Why has he never considered that this thing floating around isn’t the SoS? That it is instead some monster that is mind fking him again, like the tree? It was stated that those emissaries ‘fell’ by entering the river, no? Just some food for thought.
Well, that was not exactly true — one thing about him had indeed changed, and to a frightening degree. It was the Sin of Solace… the spirit of the cursed sword was entirely different from how it had been before. But that was the only discrepancy. - Kamitenbatsu2dReplied to J_h85
The answer is oblivion right? And you don’t dream while inside the dream. So he isn’t having nightmares, he is living through harrowing experiences and then forgetting about them. Only when he wakes does he momentarily seem to recall what happened before it’s lost to him. So this likely has something to do with Oblivion, with a big O.

I feel like she is just putting in a big act. I can’t imagine the daughter of war loosing her control over this stuff. I feel like she is acting out intentionally.
