It's simple. Time. You as the author wrote 500 chapters over the course of a year, naturally some elements of the story have slipped your mind, leading to illogical developments or plot holes. The reader, on the other hand, binged those 500 chapters over the course of 3 days, with the details still fresh in its mind it can easily remember what you have forgotten and notice what you have overlooked, the plot hooks you left dangling, the secret techniques you used in one fight and then discarded, small plot holes that naturally form, etc...

This is to help yourself check your own settings later in the future. Otherwise, a novel that reached over one million words and has lasted for one year or longer might cause you as an author to completely forget about something you wrote before in the past. It's even quite common to make a mistake when writing about the items that the main character possesses. Yet, there will always be a sharp-eyed reader or two that catches the author out in a misstep.

refractory period? Never heard of it!

Jiang Chen didn’t bother explaining. He quietly enjoyed Liu Yao’s small gestures as little Jiang Chen, who just finished a hard fought battle, began to show signs of life again.

    Hi

Jiang Chen patted his flat stomach as he eyed the empty rice cooker. He was quite shocked to discover that the gene vaccine not only strengthened his muscle, but it also increased his appetite. He at least ate two times his usual amount. He finally understood why Sun Jiao ate so much; she was not just a foodie after all.

eh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, mother of all omelettes and whatnot.

That was slowly changing as bestsellers such as the Pacifier line, the War Squire line and the Hymenoptera line emerged. The law enforcement mech and industrial mech both proved that the right glows could produce immediate and highly productive benefits to their customers.

"I can actually walk around without bumping into people all the time. I've got to say that it's a nice change of scenery. The only downside is that I still haven't gotten used to the constant cloud cover. It's even more disconcerting when the clouds adopt a rainbow sheen."

That would be great! That is until a high powered laser weapon pierces through the shield, then..... heh heh time to see some fireworks.

Mechs generally featured two kinds of energy cells. The most often used cells acted as batteries or capacitors with a fair amount of readily available energy. These battery type cells could be used to power a high-intensity laser cannon, allowing the weapon to fire in quick succession as it drained power very fast. Battery cells generally were employed on mechs that depended highly on energy weapons and were expected to fight short but intensive fights.

It's a **festive** cloud generator. It quite literally is just for appearances.

TheSeventhSnake flitted to the side and used his superior agility in the air to keep his mech safe. He swiped the VF-5 with his combat knife, scoring occasional hits but unable to deal any critical damage. The cloud generator spurted out so many colorful clouds that the streets were almost completely obscured. This didn't affect either mech's performance, as they both switched to alternate vision modes that could easily see through the clouds of vapor.

    Noooo!

Without hesitation, when the golden black beetle crawled next to Han Sen, he held down the golden black beetle's shell with one hand and swiftly cut into its fragile joints with the dagger in his other hand. He made six clean cuts vertically and horizontally to remove all six claws of the beetle.
