ManWithThePlan6dCommentedYea, his immaturity is showing here. Honestly this character has felt pretty one dimensional for a long time. It's either anger or pride. No sadness, grief, happiness, joy, concern, empathy, sympathy, or patience(some of these might be similar, but y'all know what I meant lol).

Ryu wasn't actually all that worried about Selheira's path. He only ever casually used his Dao to help enhance those around him when it suited his plans, but given that he would take Selheira as his wife in time, it wasn't too big of a deal for him to put some real effort into helping her improve. - ManWithThePlan6dCommented
That's quite an immature mindeset though. Guess our boy still has a LOT of growing up to do. You can't just become the strongest and ignore everything else. Life doesn't work like that.

About time he realized that. For all his introspection he certainly doesn't tackle many of his mental issues.
Truthfully, Ryu had things to do and he would prefer to head to the Ethereal Plane immediately so he could check out some things. But his cultivation wasn't the only thing that deserved some effort in his life. - ManWithThePlan6dCommented
Honestly it is refreshing seeing Ryu being taken to task for his nonchalant nature. He goes about many things way to casually. I need to see more emotion and sensibility from him.

And add to that, they've missed they bulk of their cultivation journey together. They've been kept apart too long. Any attempt at trying to write any affect between him and certain "wives" would only feel forced.

Soo......he isn't as great as he thinks? It seems like Ryu thinks himself as talented but he can't seem to use much of it. Feels a bit wasteful if you ask me.

This was for the best. He didn't do well in Sects and he was much better on his own. As much as he wanted to put Old Wan's head on a pike, his rage was using up too much of his mental space. A dead man wasn't worth so much of his thoughts. - ManWithThePlan6dCommented
Innovation doesn't really matter. Power does. And he is severely lacking that.
He could feel the Eighth Heaven getting closer and closer and yet he was no closer to coming up with a plan. It felt like all his "innovation" had already fled far from him. No amount of thinking was giving him any better solutions. - ManWithThePlan6dCommented
I mean, he is still not ready for that type of battlefield. he knew that risks and despite his low strength he took a miscalculated risk.
Hope had blocked more than 99% of the strike, and yet the few fractions of a percent she couldn't caused her to fly back with enough force to leave his organs in a complete mess.
