I think they are fated. Klein's The Fool card was fated to him and althought he allowed the members to directly choose by themselves, and he often manipulated the outcome, that was not always the case; when he allowed them to choose blindly without intervening, the outcome was always of great meaning. I remember Klein was getting the chills lol. I guess the Major Arcanas keep each other up to date with new members and they all carry a deck of the still available Minor Arcana cards.

I wonder if this is how you become a Great Old One of your own kind. By stealing pathways with madness steeming from different forces. From what i understand "the madness" is in a great deal created by the possesor. The longer one posseses a characteristic, the more of the madness steem from "you". Great Old Ones posses the characteristics for millenias. This is a time difficult to oppose. However, a stolen authority held for its own millenias? It would take more and more madness, an i print, from "you". Would stealing several pathways and holding onto them for so long make you a Great Old One? Ofc, the question is also from WHERE all the power and characteristics come from in the first place. It was said that all the one's on Earth came from our resident Great Old One splitting, but even that would have to come from somewhere. I bet on underground.

And as much as it is very unclear how much madness can one withstand before losing control, as long as Klein could stand it and not lose himself and who he is, then he can accomodate it. He would not steer into converging into the Earth's Original God, because that's not his madness he would be taking in.

That is, if what you are accomodating is a pathway of the same Great Old One, right?? I mean, Klein would steer to converge into the Earth's Great Old One if he accomodated one of his pathways, that is "the official 22". But if he stole a pathway belonging to another Great Old One? The convergence would no longer steer him towards the Earth's Old One, because the pathway's inward madness & personality would belong to another being. Klein would still be affected by Earth's Old One's madness but the new authority would not enhance this particular one. Instead, the madness he would gain would have nothing to do with Earth's Old One. That madness would rather be of its own kind, because it came from another being.
