chameleon tongues are basically spring loaded. once they are in motion it is difficult to stop one way or the other. That is at least my guess since I'm not a chameleon...but by contracting the muscles of their tongue it pulls the tongue tight back into place for launching again which is why it moves with such speed

going by what I have read so far this is a word for word copy of another beat tamer story I have read that just changed the male lead to a female one. I shall keep reading to determine if that is true or if they just had a very very very similar start but so far it isn't original at all

he is saying that with further improvements he will be able to go further down into the dungeons and find loot worth more money

it's quite possible it only works for monsters that are higher than level 1 since it's sounding a bit like only the level 2 or 3 goblins are dropping any cores or weapons. also all the higher level monsters they seem to have fought dropped stuff.

He has only showed them the one egg so they don't yet know there are more. Selling them for money so they can get more food than just the one egg makes sense when you don't know there are more of them.
