That actually makes a lot of sense, unless you are willing to put your life in the hands of the other 19 dudes you wouldn't kill him, I mean as long as any of them tells the dude the others are dead and he would get a better treatment for his loyalty, besides killing him wouldn't solve their problems, there's no water either way, so that's checkmate, they may know what he did but can't do anything either way.
I have read like 3-4 cooking system novels and I'm still unable to understand why the mc is always reluctant to even try to get a customer when they have a time limit, I mean if you don't have one then so be it, you couldn't care less but this dude would be almost crippled if he fails to sell but he is still like "I won't even bother to try to tell you what this thing that looks like an overpriced product is or what ingredients I use" and of course it is actually extremely cheap due to the ingredients but nobody except the mc knows that they don't even know what fried rice or how it is made or what ingredients it should have so for anyone it would be like paying a huge amount of money for rice since the owner couldn't be bothered to tell you what he is selling and I don't know you but I have never been in a restaurant were they won't even tell me more than the dish name
There’s also the fact that it doesnt protect againts something like a dron or a golem, or even lest say someone is fighting nearby and send a big rock to the house, as it is, it is full of loopholes
