I believe the desire to play hero will still trouble him from time to time. Also, the impulse to act without prior contemplation. I agree with the line of thinking that his experiences are truly beyond life-changing such that there's no way it changes his mindset. What I'm pointing out is just a very small part of him that tries to hold on to the old him. It is the internal turmoil that happens inside Emery's mind that has always made Emery one of the most interesting characters out there. And now, he has the potential to act out of character even more. I'm all in.

Loving the plot and character development so far. I am now left wondering how big the change in Emery's personality will be. I am not a believer of total transformation. There should always be instances when old habits manifest themselves. I mean one does not totally change just because he came into a realization. It is never automatic.

I'm back to waiting for updates again.

He will still "die" from assassination. It would be impossible to keep hiding the fact he doesn't seem to grow old like others do.

Uhm, Emery, if you must know, it's really a bad idea to leave your girl for even a few hours while in the company of another woman. That's a scary proposition.

I've had the same thought last time as well. However, the Harlights can hardly compare with the Nephilims, so I guess that should settle it. I also think the Harlight faction can see an advantage to this for them.

Julian is out because of his Harlight connection. Thrax is hot-blooded and Chumu is too quiet that he might seem mysterious. Even then, it will still be Klea. Jinkan ropes in Klea, she hits two birds with one stone. Getting Klea means getting her intended target, Emery as part of a package. Jinkan us the ultimate winner all the way.

She has his clone. That's what it is for.

So, Klea will be bringing back a cocoon. No way this state doesn't last more than a day.
