The commenters here don't understand and underestimate how severely traumatizing torture can be and how easily it crawls under people's skins. Even if you are surrounded by loved ones, after going through sessions of torture, you can only feel alone, crying and screaming for everything to end. A fragile mind, broken into pieces but barely held together by tape. Choices so obvious yet so hard to choose because all we want is for the suffering to end so we pick the one that stops the pain the fastest and 90% of the time, that results in complying with the torturer. I know and feel his pain because I experienced similar torture 20yrs ago and my body will never forget it, but that's a story for another time.

That doesn't really apply here because the powers are scaled in a way that with enough strength, nothing else really matters. You can do intelligent debates as much as you want but in the event that your life is at risk and you do not have the power to protect it, you only have the option of bowing your head or attempt to flee and become stronger.

I think that for them, now is not the time to use it. Maybe as a last resort or going into an intense battle but for now its probably best to keep it under wraps. The human heart is unpredictable after all....

I think its has more to do with the balance between story progression and contextual fillers. For me, I am one of those fortunate enough to not worry about the cost of chapters but I can understand when people get upset with having to spend passes and coins on premiums only to be greeted by chapters of assembly/testing filler in a row. I highly doubt majority of the readers are mechanical engineers so they will most likely read the beginning with interest and then skip the rest while looking for the story progression. I'm dont hate the fillers personally but I suggest toning down a little on the detailed explanations of his inventions that spans multiple chapters.

id say just go with whatever feels right for you story wise. The reader is here to see and explore your world and to see your vision 😁
