Ursa in the show had many signs of severe depression, wich could at least give her an excuse. Ozai is a sorry excuse of a human being and Iroh focused on Zuko, thinking he was the one who needed him the most . And the betrayal of Mai and Ty Lee was just thz last nail, although deserved because of her own behavior. But yeah, she deserved better, and I really tought she would be saved at some point, wouln'd be the first having a redemption arc in the show ...
