my theory is that guardians are akin to auxiliary cores for mogar and each tribulation is like a breakthrough for mogar. When a being becomes a guardian they give up their ability to get to the level that mogar is on. I think white cores are not the final step.
So this chapter feels like it is foreshadowing Thruds child being Liths antithesis when it comes to bloodline abilities and how they will likely cancel out each others abilities at some point making them see each other as a weakness to get rid of.
This series of events doesn't make sense with how the vampires have worked in the past... We know they have the ability to force weaker vampires to tell the truth there should never be instances of "he said she said" as a plot point in the Vampire area...
