So they’ve replaced the actually usable daily FPs in the browser version for 10 points per thing where you need 2000 minimum to trade for a single one of what they gave before, *and* they’re only able to be used to buy that ludicrously overpriced garbage in a shop that’s only in the app? Good lord this is absurd
Well then. I guess that’s that. I’m not getting the app, and they seem to have discontinued the browser based free passes to actually be able to unlock chapters in stories that are premium, having also long since discontinued the spirit stones thing to be able to unlock chapters, so I guess I’m done here. Maybe I’ll check back occasionally to see if they’ve changed things so you don’t have to use the app for that stuff, but until then… Well done Webnovel, a huge middle finger to you.
So, does anyone here know what these “points” they’ve replaced fast passes with are? A while ago (years ago) there used to be spirit stones or something like that that was used to unlock chapters, then they went to fast passes, and now there’s some vague kind of “points” that doesn’t seem to have an actual use. I don’t see anywhere where they’re tracked or listed, I don’t see a “use points to unlock chapter”, and I don’t see any description for them or anything other than them just being called “points”, which is really unhelpful for figuring out what they’re supposed to be used for
Shen-“Dang it, I lost and wasn’t able to spot the Hiding Hua.” Shen later-“I’m sorry Hua for misjudging you. You aren’t anything like the scum that you had the misfortune to be sired by.” “….and thank you for not stabbing me. I very much prefer being alive.” Hmm, someone from Chen’s past that she wants to kill? I wonder if it’s someone we’ve heard of before or not. We’ll probably find out later when Hua helps Chen with it
Luo-“Si really needs to work on his intelligence.” Hua and Kuai just stare at him. Luo-“…And I probably do too, don’t I?” “Xing managed to keep guessing the enemies plans like he had spies there.” Xing-“I did read the novel!” Shen-“I still haven’t been able to spot Hua! I’ll never win this game of Where’s Hua!”
Hua-“You’re not the only one who can sense them coming Xing!” Luo cries in the distance “Luo’s skill was indeed slightly lower than her’s.” Luo-“It’s ok Hua, we all know I’m way less skilled than you. I can take it.” Hua-“…Ok then. Luo, you kinda suck. I have to keep holding back when pretending to be you or it’ll make your workload even heavier trying to keep up.” Luo-“Hua’s so mean to me…” T^T Hua-“…sigh.” *pats Luo on the head* “Better?” Luo-“Much.” ^_^ “Xing felt a different kind of feeling for Luo this time.” Luo suddenly shivers and feels scared-“Oh no, what has Hua gotten me into this time? Why do I have the distinct feeling I’m going to have to learn to act a lot better and learn to pretend to be her for extended periods of time?”
“Only an if”- no, it’s a when! Hua-*slaps the mask on Luo*-“Ok, you’re me for now!” Hua-“I am Nan Luo, and I am doing awesome stuff!” Luo cries in the distance as he knows his training is going to get even more intense to be able to try and keep up with the skills Hua showed while pretending to be him Hua sees Long Xu punch the war drum-“I see Si has a new rival for the title of village idiot.”
Xing-“Yep, Si is an idiot that only knows how to charge forward.” Kuai-“Of course Xing succeeded, he isn’t dumb like Si.” Luo-“For some reason Si always seems to be the base line comparison for people being dumb. Poor guy.” Si-“Why does everyone keep bullying me?!” T^T Si-“I felt like an assassin sneaking into that base!” Hua-“…” Si-“…never mind. I’m just a clown who got lucky.” Hua-“Better. If it was me in charge they’d have never seen my troops coming. No-*when* I’m in charge they’ll never see my troops coming.”
Si-“Monster? You haven’t met my younger brother. Or my other younger brother. Or my big sister.” Si-“Success! Praise me my siblings, praise me!” Hua-“…Why did you let yourself get surrounded and fight the enemy commander solo?” Kuai-“Yeah, that was pretty dumb and reckless.” Luo-“How sad Si, you should know better than to be so reckless.” Si-“….ok, please stay quiet then…”
Kuai-“there are two types of commanders-smart ones and dumb ones. You can guess which one I am and which one Si is.” Kuai-“…I’m going to end up having to be Si’s nanny and making sure he doesn’t botch up things on the battlefield too badly, won’t I?” Luo’s going to be so sad when he gets to that light position where he’s the center of attention, only to find Hua’s been there for ages and is waiting for him
Kuai-“Mwahaha, I’m the captain now! I get to order Luo around!” I like how Kuai doesn’t even have any doubt in his mind that Hua will end up becoming a high ranking commander, and Luo will become one too I guess. But mainly Hua will be the big cheese commander. Hua is a woman of many hats-assassin, warrior, commander, general (eventually), assassin group leader, cool big sister, etc.
Luo-“I’m too weak to be on the frontline…” *Hua massacres her way across the battlefield* Luo-“Hua is still so far ahead of me…” Hua-“Fighting head on has never been my forte.” Kuai, Si, and Luo-“… Then what do you call this absurdity?! Not your forte our backsides!” And yeah, them being so young really hammers home how dumb it is for them to be brought to the battlefield while they’re still children
The chapter title amuses me Luo-“Why didn’t Hua just say I wasn’t suited to use the bow as a main weapon instead of saying Kuai is stronger than me?” Hua-“…I did. How you take it is your own problem, not mine.” Luo-“The only thing I’ve been training out here is my tent making skill!” Hua-“Luo has a bright future as a tent pitcher.”
