The Wizards' Ordinary Magic and Basic Aptitude Test (or W.O.M.B.A.T.) was a series of tests administered by the Wizarding Examinations Authority. The test scores from the W.O.M.B.A.T.s, like the O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s, were accepted as a valid form of credentials for witches and wizards wanting to apply for a job. Unlike the two latter, however, the W.O.M.B.A.T.s consisted exclusively of written papers. Therefore, W.O.M.B.A.T.s could in theory be sat by Muggles as well as wizards and witches, although the Wizarding Examinations Authority did not believe that any Muggle would have the degree of inner knowledge required to pass it.
